    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

There are two groups: Group A (people who filed an asylum or statelessness application before January 1, 2026) and Group B (people in an irregular situation who were in Spain before January 1, 2026). In both cases, you must be physically present in Spain when applying and have remained for the previous 5 months uninterruptedly.

Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2026. It's essential not to wait until the last moment to prepare your documentation.

The administration has 3 months to resolve. If they don't respond within that time, it's considered denied (negative administrative silence).
